CHICAGO, Ill. - The UIC men's tennis team (2-8) traveled across town on Saturday to take on the UChicago Maroons (6-2). The Flames fell to the Maroons, 6-1, inside XS Tennis.
Issac Lloveras and Carl Hedstrom teamed up at the No. 1 spot to collect UIC's lone victory of the night, 8-2. Lloveras and Hedstrom have paired up to collect three wins in five attempts in the No. 1 spot this season.
Teammates Maurizio Feoli and Louis Theodor lost a hard fought match at No. 2 doubles. They came back from a 7-4 deficit but fell in the tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-3).
Hedstrom took his match at the No. 2 singles spot against Deepak Sabada to three sets, falling 6-4, 0-6, 6-0. Louis Theodor forced a third-game against his opponent and came out on top for the 7-6, 3-6, 10-4 win at No. 4 singles.
The Flames return to action when they host Oral Roberts at the Hinsdale Racquet Club on Friday (March 6).
