CHICAGO - The UIC men's tennis team (5-8, 1-0 HL) will play host to Horizon League rival Green Bay (11-7, 1-0 HL) on Friday (April 3). Competition is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. CT at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The Flames look to extend their three-match win streak as they take on the Phoenix. UIC's last four-match win streak was April 9-24, 2010.
The last time the Flames and the Phoenix met was on April 6, 2014 when UIC fell at home by a 7-0 score. Carl Hedstrom competed at the No. 4 position and forced a third match before falling 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Maurizio Feoli also pushed his match at the No. 6 slot to three sets, ultimately falling 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
Louis Theodor currently leads the Flames with seven wins. Teammates Carl Hedstrom and Mitch Granger come in a close second with six match victories in dual play. Isaac Lloveras and Hedstrom have collected the team's highest winning percentage in doubles play with four victories in five overall competitions.
