CHICAGO –
The UIC women's soccer team (5-9-2, 3-4-0 HL) will head to Dayton, Ohio, for its final regular season road match Saturday against Wright State (6-7-2, 4-1-1 HL) at Alumni Field at 3 p.m. CT. The Flames will be looking to keep their postseason chances alive as they are currently positioned in a tie for sixth place with Oakland.

UIC is facing a quick turnaround as it suffered its first overtime loss of the season in a 2-1 decision to Valparaiso (Oct. 19) at Flames Field. Anna Brusco scored for the Flames in the ninth minute to put them out ahead, but they could not hang on to the lead as the Crusaders answered.

Nine players have contributed to the 19 goals scored this season with Rebeca Pallo leading the way with six. Of the 17 assists, eight have come from Olivia Everin and Jasmin Carrera with four each. It is Emily Wauer (32), Pallo (31) and Everin (21) who have taken the most shots as the Flames have put up 192 attempts and had 86 reach on goal, with 45 from the trio.

In conference play alone, Pallo owns three goals as Wauer and Emily Valentine have aided in the scoring effort with two assist apiece. Of the 78 shots, Wauer (15), Pallo (11) and Tamae Douglas (10) are the lone players to have reached double digits.

Kelly Fritz has controlled the goal and made 37 saves this season while picking up two shutouts along with a 1.42 goals-against-average. Against Horizon League foes, Fritz has made 22 stops and collected a 1.33 GAA.

In the two previous meetings between UIC and Wright State, it has been the Raiders to come out on top of 2-0 and 1-0 finals.

Wright State has put together a 4-1-0 record over its last five games with wins over Green Bay, Cleveland State, Youngstown State and Valparaiso, while its most recent match was a 2-0 loss to Milwaukee. In the standings, the Raiders are positioned fourth with 13 points.

The offensive production of Wright State has been equally matched to that of the Flames. Mattie Cutts (4), Aaliyah Patten (3) and Sarah Colvin (3) lead the scoring effort with more than half of the 19 goals, as a majority of the 18 assists have come from Patten (4) and Colvin (4). A total of 172 shots have been taken with Patten (34) and Niki Romero (27) leading the way as 34 of their attempts have reached on goal.

Against conference opponents, the Raiders have scored 11 of their goals with Cutts (3), Patten (2) and Colvin (2) at the top, with three assists each for Patten and Colvin. Patten (18) and Romero (15) have continued to take the most chances with 17 of their attempts coming on goal.

Katie Ruff has played all but 125 minutes this season in goal as she has made the second-most saves in the conference with 72 while collected four shutouts and a 1.35 GAA. Nearly half of her stops have come against Horizon League opponents with 32 as she has allowed just five goals for a 0.82 GAA.
