TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The UIC women's soccer team finished off its preseason Saturday night with a 0-0 final against Indiana State at Memorial Stadium.
"The coaching staff is extremely pleased with how the entire team contributed on the field tonight," said head coach
Brian Rigby. "They have worked hard implementing our team tactics both when in possession and without the ball. We displayed a good style of soccer tonight and the ladies should feel proud with the progress and the body of work to this point. We look forward to the final week of training as we lead into the regular season next Friday night."
For the second-consecutive game, the Flames had the shots come in their favor, outshooting the Sycamores, 12-11. Of the attempts, five reached on goal.
The Flames will now await their regular-season opener on Friday, Aug. 19, when they make the short trip to DeKalb, Ill., to face Northern Illinois. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT at the NIU Soccer Complex.
