CHICAGO – Off to its best start in program history, the UIC women's soccer team (1-1-2) looks to continue in the right direction this weekend when it goes up against SIUE (1-2-1) and Baylor (3-1-0). The Flames will make their way to Edwardsville, Ill., to face the Cougars at Ralph Korte Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m. CT before returning home to host the Bears at Flames Field on Sunday at 1 p.m.
UIC is back in action after coming back from a 4-0 loss to Drake (Aug. 26) to take a 4-1 win over New Mexico State (Aug. 28).

Emily Wauer and
Jennifer Novak combined for the four goals scored against the Aggies, which marked the most goals ever scored in a game by the Flames.
Olivia Everin additionally aided in the scoring effort by garnering a program-best three assists.
Through the two games, the Flames put up 23 shots with 11 reaching on goal.
Annie DiCanio made six saves in 135 minutes during the weekend as
Tara Khayam added one stop in 45 minutes of action.
In four games this season, UIC ranks within the top four in the Horizon League in goals (4), assists (5), shots (50) and goals-against average (1.13). Pallo takes the top spot on the team in goals with two, as Everin leads the conference and ranks in 14th in the nation in assists with three. Wauer has contributed the most shots with 13 and has had 10 reach on goal.
DiCanio has played all but 45 minutes in goal so far and owns two shutouts, 16 saves and a 1.27 goals-against-average. Her two shutouts places her 12th nationally among goalkeepers.
The Flames head into the weekend with a 1-1-0 record in the all-time series with SIUE, as they posted a 1-0 victory in overtime last season at home, while Sunday's match will be the first meeting with Baylor.
SIUE is coming off a pair of 2-1 losses to Denver (Aug. 26) and Colorado State (Aug. 28) last weekend, as its lone win came in the regular-season opener with a 6-1 routing over Chicago State (Aug. 19).
The Cougars possess eight goals, seven assists and 43 shots on the year. Avery Anderson and Caroline Hoefert have led the offense with a combined five goals and 16 shots, of which 12 have been on goal, as seven different players have contributed the helpers. Juli Rossi has played every minute in goal, tabbing one shutout, 12 saves and a 1.18 goals-against average.
Baylor has put up wins over Detroit (Aug. 19), Purdue (Aug. 26) and Incarnate Word (Aug. 28) so far this season with a scoring margin of 10-1, with its lone loss coming to Michigan State (Aug. 21).
The Bears have put up 10 goals, nine assists and 79 shots so far. Lauren Piercy owns a team-best four goals and 15 shots with 10 on goal, as Raegan Padgett has also reach double digits in shots with 12. Ashley York and Emory Cason lead in assists with two apiece. Sara Martinson has earned the majority of minutes in goal, needing to only make two saves and sharing one shutout with Rebecca Gartner as the two have combined for a 0.50 goals-against-average.
