CHICAGO – Coming off its first win of the season, the UIC men's soccer team (1-3-1) will step away from conference play as it gets set for an afternoon tilt against crosstown-rival DePaul (3-1-2) on Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT at Wish Field in Lincoln Park.

The Flames picked up a big 1-0 victory over Milwaukee last weekend (Sept. 10) to open the Horizon League season.
Oscar Rivero scored the game-winning goal, assisted by
Max Todd, in the grueling matchup that featured a combined 65 fouls and eight yellow cards.
Andrew Putna earned his first shutout of the season and 24th of his career as he made three saves in the match.

So far this season, UIC has taken 51 shots and put 20 on goal, converting five of those attempts into goals from Todd (2), Rivero,
Jose Fuentes and
Yuri Domiciano. Todd leads the team with six points (2G, 2A) and has put up a team-high seven shots alongside Fuentes,
Oscar Gonzalez and
Abel Guzman, with Todd and Gonzalez putting four on goal.

Putna has recorded all 470 minutes in goal this season as he has registered 16 saves and owns a 2.11 goals-against-average.

DePaul enters into the midweek match after going 1-0-1 over the weekend with a 1-1 draw against Nebraska-Omaha and a 3-0 victory over IUPUI. The Blue Demons have additionally come away with wins on the year against Albany (NY) and the Flames' Horizon League for Northern Kentucky.

A total of 13 goals have been by seven players scored off of DePaul's 69 shot attempts. Erik Rodriguez has recorded a team-high seven points off three goals and one assist, followed by Simon Megally and Stijn Van der Slot with two goals and two assists apiece, as the trio all sit within the top six on the team in shots.

Quentin Low has received a majority of the minutes in goal, racking up 15 saves, one shutout and an impressive 0.65 goals-against-average off four goals allowed. Trevor Wilson has played 22 minutes while making one save and giving up one goal.

In the all-time series, UIC is positioned with a 14-10-3 record after coming away with the 1-0 victory on the Northside last season. However, in games played at Wish Field, the Flames are 4-7-1.
