CHICAGO – Georgie Sanders, Amelia Guevremont and Rachel Le Comber of the UIC women's tennis team will represent the Flames at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships hosted by the University of Michigan. The six-day tournament will run from Oct. 12-17 at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich. 

All three Flames will compete in the Qualifying Singles Draw, beginning on Thursday, while Le Comber and Sanders will combine to compete in the Main Draw Doubles starting on Friday.
The Flames last competed at the Wildcat Invite Sept. 29-Oct. 1, where they compiled eight singles victories and seven doubles victories. Guevremont took home the top spot in the Green Flight, defeating all three of her opponents faced in singles competition.

Guevremont owns a 5-1 singles record this fall, with four of her five victories coming in straight sets. Guevremont also owns three doubles wins in fall tournament play, two alongside Le Comber, with the third beside Bianca Zuzu.

Le Comber is 3-4 in singles thus far in tournament play, including a 2-0 showing at the UIC Invitational (Sept. 22-23). The junior is 6-4 in doubles alongside partners Melika LeBlanc, Miranda Rodriguez Diaz de Leon and Guevremont.  

Sanders is an even 4-4 this fall in singles, and is 4-5 in doubles play alongside partner Lejla Colic. The pair was crowned co-champion of doubles play at the UIC Invitational after going 2-1 against opponents from Chicago State and Valparaiso.

The ITA Midwest Regional will serve as the final fall tournament for the Flames, who will resume competition with the dual season on Feb. 3.
