ROCHESTER, Mich. – The UIC men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed against defending Horizon League Champions Oakland on Friday in the Oakland Aquatics Center. Both teams came up short against the Golden Grizzlies.

Team Highlights

• The women were defeated 191-109 to become 5-3 on the season.
• The men fell 178-103 and are now 3-3 this season.

Individual Highlights – Men

• Daniel Sivak took home the 100 back crown, with a time of 50.74. Sivak was also the best in the 200 IM (1:54.64).
• Luke Hutchinson grabbed first place in the 200 fly, touching the wall at the 1:51.61 mark.
• Hunter Crook was the runner-up in both the 500 and the 1000 free.
• Nathan Bosse was the champion in the 100 free (46.72) and was the top finisher for the Flames in the 200 free, finishing in second with a time of 1:44.38.
• In the 100 fly, Max Pohl finished in first, completing the race in 51.15.

Individual Highlights – Women

• Brie Hines continued her unbeaten streak in the 500 and 1000 free, capturing the top finish in both races
• Lexie Joy took home first place in the 200 free as well the 200 IM. Joy was also the runner-up in the 100 free with a time of 52.01.
• Sophia Shalabi was second in the 200 breast, finishing the race at the 2:23.33 mark.
• Cyndey Liebenberg swept the diving events for the women, taking home the crown in both the 1-meter (266.25) and 3-meter (249.82) competitions.
• Misha Neal, Shalabi, Hines and Joy came together to take home second in the 400 free relay, completing the race in 3:33.17.

• The Flames will make the short trip to Evanston, Ill. for the TYR Invitational hosted by Northwestern. The Invitational runs from Friday, Nov. 17 through Sunday, Nov. 19.
