INDIANAPOLIS – The UIC women's volleyball team (17-12, 8-8 HL) battled with IUPUI (16-13, 12-4 HL) in the regular season finale on Saturday. The Flames were trailing 2-0 and took the next two sets to tie it, but the Jags took the tiebreaker to win the match 3-2 (21-25, 24-26, 25-21, 25-22, 12-15).

Nicole Johnson tabbed 47 assists to become the all-time career assists leader with 4,669 helpers in her time in a Flames jersey.
Match Highlights
- Set One: The Jags sped off to a 6-2 lead at the start, and never trailed from that point. The Flames came within one, 9-8, but IUPUI took four of the next five, 14-9.
- Set One: IUPUI continued to build its lead, 20-14, and the Flames took four straight to come within two, 20-18. UIC came within two again at the 23-21 mark, but were unable to overcome the Jags, who took the set 25-21.
- Set Two: Set two was a much closer contest, with neither team not owning a lead larger than two.
- Set Two: The Flames owned their last lead at the 10-9 mark, but were able to force extra points by tying the match at 24, but following a timeout, the Jags took two in-a-row from a kill and a UIC error.
- Set Three: The third frame began with a 10-5 lead for IUPUI, and four-straight points put UIC within one, 10-9.
- Set Three: The Flames were able to keep it within two until the 19-16 mark, but once again UIC tied it at 19 after a three-point offensive surge with kills from Alexandra Drosopoulou and Ali Witt.
- Set Three: An ace from Johnson, another Drosopoulou kill and a pair of IUPUI errors gave the Flames four unanswered points for a 24-20 lead and a termination from Kyisha Hunt kept the Flames alive with a 25-21 victory.
- Set Four: UIC led 9-4 to start the fourth, and the Jags would only be able to come as close as two, 17-15, before the Flames got more room off two IUPUI errors and a Drosopoulou kill, 20-16.
- Set Four: IUPUI threatened with three-straight points to come within one, 23-22, but a kill from Hunt and a Jags error gave the Flames the win, 25-22, to even the match.
- Set Five: The tiebreaker was a tight race, and with the score tied at 12, a trio of errors plagued the Flames, giving the Jags the 15-12 set win and the 3-2 victory.
Facts and Figures
- In addition to her 47 assists, Nicole Johnson added 13 digs for her fifth double-double of the season.
- Manuela Conte also notched a double-double, her ninth of the season, after recording 11 kills and 20 digs. Conte's 20 digs were a match-high.
- Kyisha Hunt led the Flames' offense with 15 kills. Hunt also contributed four block assists on defense.
- Ali Witt tied her career-high total blocks with seven, while also adding nine kills.
- Alexandra Drosopoulou gave another well-rounded performance, with 11 kills and 7 digs.
- Sarah Daneliak earned seven terminations, six digs and four block assists up at the net, while Carla Salvato dug out 14 in the libero position.
