CHICAGO -- Chicago's Championship Baseball Academy will soon be in session with camps and clinics scheduled for ballplayers of all ages.
The camp staff features the same coaches who helped the Flames capture the 2017 Horizon League championship while matching a school record with 39 victories. Known around the country for its excellent player development, the staff saw a record six players selected in the MLB First-Year Player Draft and three more sign professional contracts over the summer. The 2017 Flames featured multiple All-Americans, as well.
The idea of the Academy is to provide players a training environment where they can realize their goals of improving as a "Complete Baseball Player." Top-level training along with advanced methods, allows a young player's potential growth in areas that normal team training does not allow. This concept is about the player's development in all facets of the game. Whether a beginner or advanced player, attendees will receive hands-on, intense baseball training.
The goal of the Chicago's Championship Baseball Academy is to offer an advanced level of instruction in a safe, controlled, fun environment that will enhance the player's opportunity to reach his/her maximum potential.
The first offering this month is the Flames Youth Baseball Camp, which will take place on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Designed for players ages 6-14, this camp is designed for the young player that is truly looking to improve and prepare their skills in order to take their game to the highest level.
On Dec. 28-29, the Academy will host five different sessions of an Elite Prospect Camp for high school players, ages 14-18 (2018-2021 graduates). The prospect camp offers a unique learning opportunity for those who have aspirations of playing baseball at the highest levels. It is for players who are truly seeking the chance to improve, prepare, and be recognized. The Elite Prospect Camp has limited space available to help insure that each attendee receives the best-possible instruction. Sessions include specific work regarding Offensive Skills, Pitchers and Catchers, Outfielders, Infielders, and more.
Finally, a Future Flames Martin Luther King Day Camp will be offered on Jan. 15, 2018, from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. It is open to players ages 6-13.
