CHICAGO – The 2026 Missouri Valley Conference champion UIC baseball team was among the first programs revealed during Monday afternoon's NCAA Division I Baseball Championship Selection Show on ESPN, as the Flames earned a trip to the Atlanta Regional next weekend.

Joining No. 4 seed UIC (27-27-1, 16-8 MVC) in the Atlanta Regional are host and No. 1 seed Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets baseball (48-9, 26-5 ACC), No. 2 seed Oklahoma Sooners baseball (32-21, 14-16 SEC) and No. 3 seed The Citadel Bulldogs baseball (35-23, 11-10 SoCon).

This will be the 15th match up between the Yellow Jackets and the Flames, as UIC looks to secure its first win over No. 2 nationally seeded Georgia Tech since 2018.

Against The Citadel, the Flames are seeking their first win, having lost the previous two meetings. If UIC and Oklahoma meet on the diamond over the weekend, it would mark the first matchup between the programs.

The Flames will begin NCAA Regional play against the Yellow Jackets at the Mac Nease Baseball Park at Russ Chandler Stadium with first pitch scheduled for 11 a.m. (CT) Friday afternoon. The game will be streamed on the ACCN available on ESPN+ and live stats on UICFlames.com. Fans interested in attending the game can look at ticket options by clicking this link here.

The winner will face off against the winner between the Sooners and Bulldogs in the first game on Saturday.

The rest of the Atlanta Regional is as follows, with game times subject to change (all times listed in Eastern Time):

Friday: Game 1 — No. 2 Georgia Tech vs. UIC, noon (ACC Network); Game 2 — The Citadel vs. Oklahoma, 5 p.m. (ESPN+).

Sunday: Game 5 — Winner Game 4 vs. Loser Game 3; Game 6 — Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 5.
Monday: Game 7 (if necessary) — Rematch of Game 6.

The winner of the Atlanta Regional will face the winner of the Lawrence Regional, stacked with No. 15 national seed Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri State and Northeastern.

UIC was crowned both the Missouri Valley Conference Regular Season and Tournament champion this season, earning its automatic NCAA Tournament bid Sunday evening with a 7–2 victory over Southern Illinois in the title game. The Flames secured their ninth tournament championship in program history, marking their seventh NCAA Regional appearance.
