CINCINNATI – The UIC women's tennis team completed its first tournament of the fall season on Saturday, the University of Cincinnati Invitational. The Flames collected four doubles victories and five singles victories across two days in the hidden dual competition, where they faced opponents from Xavier, Ball State and host Cincinnati.

UIC's four doubles victories came in the first day of competition, two of which were earned by the tandem of Lejla Colic and Georgie Sanders. Colic and Sanders took down Cincinnati's Antonella Bramato and Caroline Morton 6-3 in the first session, and Ball State's Peyton Gollhofer and Sarah Swiderski by the same score in session two.

Melika LeBlanc and Rachel Le Comber also grabbed a doubles victory in the second session, 6-2, over Victoria Sec and Audrey Berger from Ball State. Stefana Vasic and Viktoria Seifert came away with UIC's lone doubles win against Xavier, 6-4 over Lauren Fitz-Randolph and Kaitlin Ruther.

Seifert was also victorious in both days of singles play, bringing down Cincinnati's Emma Micelli, 6-4, 2-6, 11-9 in session one on Friday, and BSU's Victoria Sec, 6-3, 6-0 in session three on Saturday.

Amelia Guevremont owned the Flames' sole singles victory against Xavier in Friday's session one, topping Zoe Manion 7-6 (5), 7-6 (3).

Sanders also took home a pair of singles victories for UIC, besting Cincinnati's Ali Miller in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3 in session two on Saturday, while earning another straight set victory on Saturday in the third session, 6-3, 6-3, versus Ball State's Audrey Berger.  

The Flames will return home to host their annual fall tournament, the UIC Invitational on Friday (Sept. 22) and Saturday (Sept. 23).
