CHICAGO – The UIC women's soccer team (2-10-0, 0-3-0 HL) will look to cap the month of September on a high note when it hosts Cleveland State (6-6-0, 2-1-0 HL) Saturday night at 7 p.m. CT at Flames Field. The first 150 UIC students will receive a pink Kicking Cancer t-shirt.

The Flames will be faced with a quick turnaround as it is coming off a 2-1 loss at IUPUI on Wednesday (Sept. 27). UIC's tally came from
Emily Valentine as she scored the program's second ever penalty kick goal.
Annie DiCanio went the complete game in goal and made four saves.

In each of their last three games, the Flames have put up at least one goal with two coming from leading goal scorer
Naomi Rushe (3) and one from Valentine as the team owns 10 on the year. A total of 171 shots have been taken with
Keri Birkenhead (23),
Olivia Everin (22),
Tamae Douglas (21) and Valentine (21) taking the top marks, as 33 of UIC's efforts have been against conference foes. Of the attempts, 66 have been on goal with a team-best nine each for Douglas and Valentine.

Goalkeeper minutes have been shared by DiCanio,
Tara Khayam and
Kelly Fritz. DiCanio has posted the top goals-against-average of 1.40 and owns two shutouts, as all three Flames have secured 19 saves apiece. DiCanio and Khayam have played the only minutes in Horizon League play and have combined for 11 stops.

UIC holds the upper hand in the all-time series with Cleveland State and looks to improve on its winning record of 2-1-0. The Flames have won the last two meetings, including last season's 2-1 final on the road.

Cleveland State makes it way to Chicago after scoring a program-best five goals in a 5-1 victory over Youngstown State (Sept. 27). Prior to facing the Penguins, the Vikings knocked off Oakland, 4-2, while its lone conference loss came against IUPUI, 1-0 (OT).

Jenna Prathapa and Dani Sowinski have made the biggest impact on offense for Cleveland State as they make up 11 of the team's 20 goals and have notched a combined four assists. Prathapa has taken a team-high 29 shots, followed by 22 from Aliani Lorenzo, and has put 16 of her efforts on goal, the lone player with a double-digit SOG total.

Jamie Daniels has played all but four minutes in goal for the Vikings this season. With three clean sheets, she has made 48 saves and carries a 1.15 GAA.
