CHICAGO – UIC (4-12-1, 3-4-0 HL) will make its way to Rochester, Mich., this weekend for its final road match of the regular season as it is slated for a 12 p.m. CT kickoff Saturday against Oakland (1-11-3, 1-3-3 HL) at the Oakland Soccer Field.

HORIZON LEAGUE STANDINGS
The Flames are positioned in fifth place in the Horizon League standings with nine points. The Golden Grizzlies are currently in eighth with six points while UIC still needs to face second place Northern Kentucky in the regular season finale. The conference tournament, set to get underway with quarterfinals Oct. 29, takes the top six teams.

LAST TIME OUT
The Flames came away with their second straight Horizon League victory Wednesday night (Oct. 17) when they clinched a 3-2 final in double overtime against Green Bay.
Emily Kavanaugh notched the game-winner in extras as she had her second three-point performance of the season after she also picked up an assist.
Megan Bowman and
Keri Birkenhead scored the first two goals for UIC, respectively, as
Emily Valentine and
Alexis Jakuszewski each added a helper. The Flames attempted 22 shots in the match for their second straight 20-plus outing.

SEASON STAT LINE
The Flames' 190 overall shots rank fourth in the conference while their 96 attempts in League games alone ranks third. They have put 79 shots on goal with 40 in HL play. In conference matches, Kavanaugh (24),
Rebeca Pallo (17), Valentine (11) and
Tamae Douglas (10) lead the charge and own a combined 29 shots on goal.

UIC has scored seven goals in its last three games to aid in their 10 conference goals. Kavanaugh is tied for first in the standings with four goals against Horizon League foes as she also sits in first with 11 points after notching three assists and is currently on a three-match point streak. Douglas holds the next highest goal total in League play with two while Valentine follows in the helper category with a pair.

Overall, Kavanaugh's 13 points ties the program record for points in the season, matching Pallo's total from 2016, and her five goals in one away from tying Pallo's record of six for most strikes.

Tara Khayam has won back-to-back matches in goal for the Flames and is currently 2-1-0 in conference action, where she has made eight of her 44 saves on the year and possesses a 2.14 goals-against average.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
After losing nine straight matches to start the season, Oakland has gone 1-2-3 over its last six matches with its lone win on the year coming against Detroit Mercy, 1-0, while it tied along the way with Cleveland State, 1-1, Green Bay, 0-0, and Youngstown State, 0-0.

The Golden Grizzlies have had 73 of their season's 121 shots come against conference foes. Off the overall total, Sierra Grodsinsky (16), Alexa Sabbagh (15) and Ali Amante (14) have the most attempts and have 19 of the team's 54 shots on goal. Five goals have been scored by Oakland with four in League action from Taylor Thalheimer, Sabbagh, Ashley Postma and Emma Voelker.

Goalkeeping duties for the Golden Grizzlies have been split the last two games between Jaimie Leas and Noemi Stadelmann. Leas has played all but 159 minutes this season and has made 46 saves with 21 goals allowed for a 1.51 GAA, and a minimal mark of 0.90 in HL play, while Stadelmann has six saves and five goals allowed.
