12/29/2018 12:39:00 PM

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Fresh off an exciting overtime victory in a nationally-televised game at Wright State Friday, UIC will be back on the court Sunday, Dec. 30, when the Flames visit Northern Kentucky, the Horizon League's 2017-18 regular season champion.

UIC (7-7, 1-0 Horizon League) has won eight consecutive conference road games dating back to last season. The Flames have not lost to an Horizon League opponent since Dec. 30, 2017, when they fell at BB&T Arena against the Norse (11-3, 1-0 Horizon League).

Both squads opened League play with a victory on Friday night. UIC freshman Travell Washington knocked down a 3-pointer from the right corner as time expired in overtime off a feed from Tarkus Ferguson to knock out the conference's preseason favorite, Wright State, 75-72. Washington finished with a career-high 13 points and four 3-pointers. Ferguson registered his sixth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds. He also added a game-high six assists.

Northern Kentucky opened the conference slate against IUPUI and it knocked off the Jaguars, 92-77. Drew McDonald posted a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Norse. The Horizon League's preseason Player of the Year joins Ferguson as the only two players in the conference with a triple-double this season. McDonald accomplished the feat on Nov. 27 against Morehead State with 12 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Ferguson did it on Dec. 5 against Illinois State with 14 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists.

Sunday's game will be carried on ESPN+. Brady Laber and Brad Redford will be on the call.
