MURRAY, Ky. – UIC (10-4) completed the perfect weekend Sunday as it posted a 5-0 shutout win over Rhode Island (1-12) at Racer Field to go 5-0 at the Racer Classic. The result also marked the third clean sheet of the tournament and the sixth straight win for the Flames.

HEADLINES
  • Flames Show Out in Fifth: With five runners left on base across the first four frames, the Flames got it going in the fifth to score all five of their runs. They loaded the bases with one out as Watts singled, stole both second and third, Cairns walked and stole a base of her own, and Mack-Miller drew a four-pitch walk. Crane came up and doubled to left to score two before James singled to center and another pair came across the plate. James then scored with two outs on a wild pitch.
  • Rams Attempt Comeback: In the top of the sixth, URI tried to convert as it loaded the bases with two outs off two singles and a walk but UIC got out of it by forcing a groundout.
  • Trudeau Does It Again: Trudeau made her second start of the weekend and went the complete game while striking out seven, walking three and allowing five hits as the Rams were forced to leave nine runners on base.
