PERRYSBURG, Ohio – The UIC women's tennis team (5-4) had its four-match win streak snapped on Friday afternoon with a 5-2 loss to Bowling Green (7-5). The Flames dropped the doubles point for the first time in four matches, while also taking four singles losses in the first four positions.
Doubles Highlights
Georgie Sanders and
Lejla Colic had their six-match win streak come to a close with a 6-4 loss in the No. 1 spot.
Melika LeBlanc and Rachel LeComber fell 6-2 at No. 2, putting the doubles point in favor of the Falcons.
Viktoria Seifert and
Stefana Vasic got their fourth-straight win as a pair with a 6-1 win over Bowling Green's Vanesa Pardo and Marta Bettinelli in the No. 3 position.
Singles Highlights
Sanders was bested by Paula Comella in the No. 1 singles spot, 6-1, 6-3, while
Lejla Colic battled with Polina Radeva through three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Amelia Guevremont went down against Marharita Tavpash in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3 to put the match in favor of the Falcons.
Melika LeBlanc was retired after two sets against Ayumi Sasaki, 6-3, 6-2, for Bowling Green's fifth point.
Rachel Le Comber and
Stefana Vasic notched the two points for the Flames, as Le Comber outlasted Marta Bettinelli through three sets, 6-0, 3-6, 6-0, as did Vasic versus Vanesa Pardo, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 10-7.
