CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (3-3) took down Northern Illinois (4-7) by a final score of 6-1 on Monday afternoon at XS Tennis. The Flames swept doubles competition and took five-of-six singles matches in route to their first pair of back-to-back victories this dual season.

Doubles Highlights

• Georgie Sanders and Lejla Colic got things started for the Flames in a big way, shutting out NIU's Evelyn Youel and Maria Potsi 6-0 in the first match of the afternoon. The pair is now on a four-match win streak, and is 3-0 this season in the No. 1 spot.
• Viktoria Seifert and Stefana Vasic notched the doubles point in favor of UIC with a 6-2 win over Thisuri Molligoda and Lara Slinko at No. 3 for their second-straight win as a pair.
• At No. 2, Melika LeBlanc and Rachel Le Comber got the win over Huskies Brodie Walker and Abigail Dekkinga, 6-2.

Singles Highlights

• Lejla Colic faced off with Abigail Dekkinga in No. 2 singles, and recorded a straight set win, 6-1, 6-3, to start things off for the Flames in singles play.
• Viktoria Seifert met Lara Slisko again in singles at No. 6, and was once again victorious, 6-3, 6-2.
• Melika LeBlanc was narrowly edged by Maria Potsi in the first set, 7-6 (5), but fell again the second set, 6-1, giving the Huskies their lone point of the afternoon.
• Rachel Le Comber solidified the win for UIC with a 7-5, 6-2 take down of Brodie Walker in the No. 5 position.
• Georgie Sanders defeated Thisuri Molligoda at No. 1 in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
• Amelia Guevremont edged out Evelyn Youel with two close wins, 7-5, 7-6 to earn the sixth point for UIC.
