HOW IT HAPPENED
- Toledo got off to a quick start in the sixth minute as Hannah Scafaria took a pass from Claire Cahalan and got a look at an empty net for the 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later Scafaria did it again as she took a shot and had it go in the back of the net off an initial stop from Khayam. Sophia Lewis made it 3-0 three minutes later as she took a shot from 15 yards out that landed in the goal.
- Despite being down 3-0, the Flames kept pressing and had it pay off in the 26th minute. Jakuszewski took the ball down the left side and passed it off to Pallo, who then served in a cross that connected with the head of Douglas for a goal.
- While UIC tried to gain back momentum, the Rockets notched another goal on what looked like a replica play from the Flames' tally as Elbony Rodriguez sent in the cross and Kelsey Kraft headed it in.
- Into the second half, Scafaria sealed her hat trick in the 56th minute as she took the ball on her own and shot it in the low left side. Two more shots came for Toledo before it scored its final goal in the 71st minute off the foot of Tatiana Woodworth as she beat Khayam one-on-one.
- The Flames tried to make their final push in the last 10 minutes but came up short as Pallo and Keri Birkenhead each had shots saved and Emily Kavanaugh sent one high.
