Riley Mahoney set two career highs, leading a Flames squad that peppered every rotation with season best scores, as UIC defeated Bowling Green, 195.200-194.825 Saturday afternoon.
Mahoney scored 9.850 on vault and 9.825 on beam. Both scores were 0.025 higher than her previous career bests. Freshman
Alisa Sheremeta continued her dominant first season with scores of 9.825 on bars and 9.900 on floor.
Ashley Albrecht had her best meet of the season, scoring 9.750 or higher on all three of her events.
"It was another strong performance and a season high," co-head coach
Peter Jansson stated. "It has been a while since we reached the pinnacle of 195-plus. This team was actually on pace to go 196 when the end of the beam lineup ran into some problems. But they now believe that they are as good as any team out there and this should be a fantastic season.
"I'm very proud of them for two weeks in a row knocking off one of the top two teams in the MAC." UIC defeated Kent State last week.
