SCHEDULE ALERT: SUNDAY'S MATCH WILL NOW START AT 3 P.M. CT
For the first time in three weeks – and just the second time in 34 days – UIC will play at home when Cleveland State visits Flames Field Sunday.
The Flames played five of their last six matches on the road. They went 4-1 on foreign turf, helping to solidify their second place standing in the Horizon League table. With just two matches left, both at home, they will seek to firm up a high seed in the conference tournament.
With a 9-5-1 overall record, and a 5-2 mark in conference action, UIC has met or exceeded the program's high water marks in both departments.
Following the conclusion of action around the league on Wednesday, including UIC's win at Green Bay, the Flames clinched a berth in the tournament for only the second time in program history. A strong finish to the regular season would grant them a home quarterfinal match, or even a bye to the semifinals as the #2 seed.
Sunday's match is the team's annual Pink Game. The first 150 UIC students to arrive for the 3 pm start will receive a free pink Kicking Cancer t-shirt. Admission to Flames Field is free for all fans.
