UIC will close out the regular season Friday night when the Flames host Oakland at Flames Field.
Though it will be the last home match for seniors
Tamae Douglas,
Cassidy Privett,
Autumn Rasmussen, and
Emily Valentine, they and their teammates are not through with the 2019 campaign. UIC has clinched a spot in the Horizon League tournament for just the second time in program history. With a win or draw, the Flames will clinch the #2 seed and with it, a bye to the semifinals.
Along with the highest conference finish in UIC annals – the 2017 team finished fifth, and this year's edition is guaranteed to be no lower than third – much history has already been made. The marks for overall wins, as well as wins at home, on the road, and in conference play, have all been surpassed.
UIC enters on a four-match winning streak, which is another program best. They have scored 11 goals during the streak and allowed just one.
The quartet of seniors will be honored during a pregame ceremony, just before kickoff at 7 pm. The first 200 UIC students through the gates will receive a free winter hat.
