Tylah Lampley matched her personal best with a team-high 14 points and freshman
Kimeira Burks reeled in the first double-digit showing of her career with a personal-best 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds, as the Flames (0-5) fell, 61-40, to Indiana State (2-2) on Thursday morning.
First Half Highlights
- Indiana State scored the game's first seven points, until Tylah Lampley was able to get the Flames on the board with a three. The Sycamores replied with a three of their own, 10-3.
- Layups from Tiana Jackson and Lampley, as well as a Kimeira Burks three put the Flames on a 7-0 run and tied the game at 10.
- The Sycamores went up 16-12 after a pair of triples, but a late jumper from Ahsha Spencer put the Flames down by just a bucket at the end of the first quarter, 16-14.
- A trio of free throws started the scoring for Indiana State in the second quarter, but Lampley converted a three-point play to cut the Sycamores' lead back to two, 19-17.
- Kiarra Thompson inbounded the ball to Lampley, who fired it off for a short jumper to keep UIC's deficit at two, 21-19. A pair of layups pushed Indiana State's lead to six, 25-19.
- The Sycamores finished the first half with five unanswered points and a 30-21 lead.
Second Half Highlights
- Indiana State started the second half the same way it started the first, on a 7-0 run, 37-21.
- Lampley went under and around to lay one up and tie her season high, but the Sycamores took another nine without a response from the Flames, 46-23.
- Spencer and Abreanna Lake broke up the run with free throws, 46-26. Indiana State laid up a pair, before Thompson followed with more freebies for the Flames, 50-28.
- Burks tallied eight points for the Flames in the fourth quarter off a pair of threes and a layup, but the Sycamores would take it, 61-40.

- Kimeira Burks became the first freshman to reach double figures with 11 points to go with eight rebounds and four steals, all of which are personal bests. Burks finished the day 3-of-5 beyond the arc and 4-of-11 overall.

- Indiana State was stronger in the paint, 30-16 and it also took more on the second chance, 17-5. UIC's bench outscored the Sycamores', 19-10.
