CHICAGO – Following an extensive nationwide search,
Eryn Cook has been named Associate Athletic Director of Compliance for the UIC Flames, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
Garrett Klassy announced on Wednesday, March 20. Most recently, Cook served in a similar position at Chicago State University. She will begin her role at UIC on April 1.
"Eryn is a rising star as an athletics administrator and we are very fortunate that she is going to join our Flames family," said Klassy. "She brings a wealth of experience from both the institutional and conference levels and throughout the search process she demonstrated her abilities to provide the leadership, attention to detail, and passion that our department strives for.

Cook comes to the Flames after working as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance at nearby Chicago State. There, she was an integral in developing a new policy and procedure manual for the department. Cook also created a comprehensive rules education program for CSU coaches, staff and campus liaisons.
Prior to her tenure with the Cougars, Cook worked for over two years as the Assistant Commissioner for Compliance and Governance for The Summit League. She oversaw all aspects of the NCAA compliance program within the conference and served as the primary compliance liaison with the member institutions. Cook also created The Summit League's first Compliance Committee, an advisory body to the University Presidents on aiding in determining League positions on issues related to yearly legislative process.
Cook also has gained valuable institutional experience in athletics compliance at the University of Albany, Rutgers University, and George Mason University.

The Richmond, Va., native is a member of the National Association for Athletics' Compliance and Women's Leaders in College Sports.
Cook majored in sport management and graduated from Old Dominion University with a bachelor of science degree in physical education in 2007. She also obtained a master's degree from ODU in 2009.
