Moments That Mattered
- UIC controlled the tempo early, firing off the first four shots of the evening, with the fourth finding the back of the net. Hazut scored his first goal of the night in the 18th minute following an entry from Jesus Perez. His shot deflected off the hands of the goalkeeper and snuck inside the left post for the early 1-0 lead.
- DePaul tried to answer in the 22nd minute with their first shot of the night, but Jacob Seeto's attempt sailed high.
- Seeto's night would end shortly thereafter as he was booked with a red card in the 30th minute for a dangerous challenge, forcing the Blue Demons to play a man down for the final 60 minutes of the game.
- DePaul found the equalizer in the second half as Jake Fuderer beat Sokratis Vasilas, upper 90, in the 63rd minute following a Blue Demon counterattack.
- The floodgates opened soon after, as six minutes following DePaul's goal, Hazut complete the brace with his second goal of the night. Cristian Sanchez played a ball into Hazut in the box, who was able to navigate the scrum in front of the net and beat the keeper, giving UIC the lead again at 2-1.
- Less than a minute later, Abdulwahab scored his first goal of the year off another Sanchez assist. Open in the middle of the field, Sanchez played a long ball forward that bounced over the head of the DePaul netminder and left Abdulwahab with an empty net.
- Alonzo capped the scoring in the 83rd minute with his second goal in as many games. Perez's strike was deflected away by the keeper but fell to Alonzo who cleaned up the action with his third goal of the year.
