CHICAGO -- Lucie Prochazkova and
Karyna Bihel were named tournament champions as the UIC women's tennis team wrapped up competition at its annual UIC Fall Invitational.

Prochazkova claimed the singles title while teaming up with Bihel to take home the doubles crown. The duo won a pair of matches Saturday, defeating Borodina/Drazic of Chicago State, 7-6(8) before topping Pukhaeva/Morgoshia (CSU), 7-5.

Also in doubles,
Nell Arendt and
Izzy Marshall also posted a 2-0 record, defeating Valparaiso tandems of Sysouvanh/Tabanera, 6-2, and O. Czerwonka/Jhaveri, 6-0.

In singles play, the Flames went 4-1 and added a walkover victory as well. Prochazkova defeated Schoolcraft (VU – 6-3, 6-1), Marshall topped Andres (CSU – 6-2, 7-5), Arendt won in three sets over Tabanera (VU – 3-6, 6-2, 10-5) and
Lejla Colic defeated Chicago State's Morgoshia, 6-0, 6-4. Bihel dropped the lone Flames singles match, falling 6-3, 1-6, 7-10.
Georgia Gulin was set to face Drazic of Chicago State, but won via walkover.

The Flames are back in action Oct. 4-6, traveling to Northwestern for the Wildcat Invite.
