CHICAGO – The UIC women's basketball team (2-15, 1-5 HL) closed out their longest homestand of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling 88-46 to Northern Kentucky (9-8, 3-3 HL). The Norse ended the day putting away 47 percent (31-of-66) of their shots from the field, while keeping the Flames to 32.1 percent (18-of-56) overall.

The Flames honored former Senior Associate AD/SWA and student-athlete Tonya McGowan with a jersey retirement ceremony at halftime. McGowan's no. 55 jersey was raised into the rafters of Credit Union 1 Arena in honor of nearly 40 years of dedicated service to the UIC athletic department.

First Half Highlights
- Northern Kentucky scored first with a layup, but a free throw by Tiana Jackson would allow UIC to get on the board and cut NKU's lead to one, 2-1.
- Jada Nneji's jumper got the Flames fired up as they gained the lead with a 7-0 run against the Norse, 10-8. However, a 12-0 run would allow the NKU to regain the lead to end the first quarter.
- The Flames bounced back at the start of second period with a jumper and a shot from downtown by Abreanna Lake and Kiarra Thompson, 20-15.
- Amira Coles's layup would end the Flames' scoring drought and Northern Kentucky's 7-0 run, 27-15. However, the Norse quickly responded with layup that led to an 8-0 run, 35-17.
- A jumper by Tylah Lampley was not enough to keep the Flames alive in the remaining four minutes of the first half, as NKU finished with 11-0 run to extend their lead, 46-19.
Second Half Highlights
- NKU got on the board first with a layup, but the Flames answered with a pair of jumpers by Jackson and Nneji to start the second half, 48-23.
- The Flames ended the third quarter with a bang as they scored a layup and two free throws, 65-36.
- UIC got off to a quick start at the top of the fourth period with a layup by Jealissa Presswood, 65-38. However, the Norse answered with a layup of their own, 67-38.
- Nneji's layup and shot from the charity stripe ended NKU's 13-0 run, 80-43. An unanswered jumper from Northern Kentucky would end the game, 88-46.

- Jada Nneji led the Flames with 11 points, her fifth straight double-digit performance.
- Tylah Lampley brought in nine points and lead the team with five rebounds. She also made a pair of blocks.
