HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The UIC women's basketball team (3-22, 2-12 HL) was unable to find an answer for Northern Kentucky and the Norse (15-10, 9-5 HL) Thursday night, falling 78-35. NKU shot 40.8 percent on the night with 10 threes, while keeping the Flames to a season-low 35 points in the loss.
First Half Highlights
- The Flames erased an early three-point lead for the Norse, tying the game at four after layups from Tiana Jackson and Jealissa Presswood. Presswood and Shelby Case combined to give UIC another five points without a response from NKU, 9-4.
- The Norse quickly took back the lead with an 8-0 run over the next one minute and 40 seconds, 12-9. Ahsha Spencer got the Flames back within one, but NKU followed with a three-point conversion, 15-11. A Norse three ended the first quarter, 18-11.
- NKU started the second quarter with another three, which was answered with a three from Presswood, 21-14. Another eight-point streak for the Norse pushed their lead into double digits, 29-14.
- Kimeira Burks laid one up to get UIC back on the board before the Norse put up four more, 33-16. Burks came through again for the Flames with a three, but NKU did the same on its next possession, 36-19.
- Back-to-back threes and a layup for the Norse increased their lead at the half, 44-21.
Second Half Highlights
- After two minutes of scoreless action to start the second half, NKU was able to lay one up, 46-21. Jackson and Burks shared UIC's next 10 points, which were all answered by the Norse, 56-31.
- NKU was able to break up the back-and-forth with a pair of layups and a three to end the third period, 63-31.
- The Norse carried their streak into the fourth quarter with nine points in the first five minutes, 72-31. A pair of free throws and a layup by Jada Nneji would be the Flames' only points in the fourth, as NKU would take it, 78-35.

- Kimeira Burks led the Flames with 11 points, her seventh double-digit showing of the season.
- Tiana Jackson finished with eight points and a career-high eight rebounds.
- Jealissa Presswood contributed eight points and six rebounds.
- UIC finished 31.1 percent (14-of-45) from the field and 33.3 percent (2-of-6) from three. The Flames shot 41.7 percent (5-of-12) from the free throw line.

- The home team was also stronger off the fast break, 10-2, and its bench outscored UIC's, 33-4.
