CHICAGO – The UIC track and field squads head to Youngstown State this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 29-March 1, for the 2020 Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships.

At last year's conference meet, which was also held at the Penguins' Watson and Tressel Training Site, the Flames took home four event titles. The men captured the DMR title on Day 1 of competition before bringing home two more on the final day of the meet.
Shaun Wollenweber won the men's triple jump with a mark of 15.3m while Peyton Wade won the lone women's title, capturing the high jump championship when she cleared 1.78m to set a new Horizon League record.

Alex Bashqawi looks to defend his title in the men's title after winning the race a year ago with a mark of 4:19.35. Earlier this year, Bashqawi broke the school record in the event, posting a time of 4:07.51 at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational.

Action will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m. (ET) with the pentathlon and heptathlon before transitioning to the field at 12 p.m. The first running event will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a heat of the men's and women's 5,000m and will conclude at 6:50 with the running of the men's and women's DMR.

Sunday's format closely matches Saturday's, with competition beginning at 9 a.m. with the conclusion of the heptathlon, with field events to follow. Running begins at 1 p.m. and will conclude at 3:50 with the 4x400 relays.
