CHICAGO – Winners of three of its last four games, the UIC baseball team returns home from a successful weekend in Florida to play host to Augustana on Wednesday (March 11) afternoon. First pitch from Curtis Granderson Stadium is set for 5:05 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

Last time out, the Flames put together a 3-1 record while competing at the Snowbird Classic down in Port Charlotte, Florida. UIC opened the tournament with a 6-1 win over St. Bonaventure and a resounding 11-2 victory over Georgetown on Friday before coming back and picking up a 5-1 decision against Army on Saturday. The Flames jumped ahead of Georgetown in the tournament finale Sunday, but ultimately dropped a 12-4 contest.

Trey Beckman had a career weekend for the Flames to help lead the offensive attack. Over four games, Beckman started all four, hitting a combined .375 with six hits (two extra base hits) while driving in seven of UIC's 22 runs over the weekend. The outfielder led the team in batting average, slugging percentage (.563), on base percentage (.474), RBIs and total bases (9).

On the mound,
Mark McCabe threw the first complete game of his career in the win over St. Bonaventure. The sophomore allowed just two hits and allowed one earned run while striking out four.
Jacob Key added a strong outing against Georgetown, striking out eight in seven innings of work to earn the victory.
