Flames Power Past Rockford, 78-30

UIC tallies six season highs as a team

CHICAGO -- UIC smothered the visiting Rockford on Saturday afternoon at Credit Union 1 Arena, forcing the Regents to commit 29 turnovers, en route to a convincing 78-30 victory in non-conference play.

The Flames (3-9) shot nearly 50 percent in the first period and took advantage of seven Rockford turnovers in the opening 10 minutes. The second quarter featured more of the same as UIC took a 30-point lead into the locker room at the half. Rockford scored just three points in the third quarter as the home team pushed its lead out to 44 at 66-22.

Senior Jada Nneji paced the Flames offensively Saturday with a season-high 19 points. She added five rebounds and a game-high four steals. Newcomer Lindsey Rogers hauled in a game-best and career-high 10 rebounds to go along with 13 points to register her first double-double at UIC.
