CHICAGO -- On a frigid Friday in Chicago, UIC struggled to find much of an offensive rhythm at Credit Union 1 Arena, falling in the first game of a two-game set against the IUPUI Jaguars, 71-52.
The Flames (3-10, 1-8 Horizon League) were held to a season-low 52 points as the squad shot just 34% from the floor and made only two of 14 attempts from long range. On the other end, IUPUI (10-4, 8-3 Horizon League) converted at a clip of 49% from the field and over 47% (8-of-17) from 3-point range. The Flames pushed late, scoring the game's final 10 points over 3:46, but the deficit was too large to overcome.
First Half Highlights
- The Jaguars scored the game's first five points with a jumper and a three in the first two minutes. Kristian Young got the Flames on the board with a pair of free throws and Jaida McCloud later nailed a jumper, 7-4, before IUPUI took nine unanswered, 16-4.
