CHICAGO – Behind a dominating offensive performance, the UIC volleyball team picked up its second consecutive sweep in Horizon League play Sunday afternoon with a 3-0 triumph over Robert Morris.

After a season-high .834 hitting percentage in their last match, the Flames set a new season best with a .439 hitting percentage against the Colonials with 47 kills and 11 errors on 82 attempts. Three Flames hit over .500 for the match (four or more kills), with
Paola Santiago recording a match-high 15 kills at a .545 clip.

UIC's serving attack caused problems for Robert Morris' defense all afternoon, as the Flames served up nine aces in the match.
Amelia Sunga led the way, with a career-high four aces.

The Flames remain at home for their next two matches, beginning Thursday (Oct. 21) against IUPUI.

How It Happened – First Set
- A Robert Morris error gave the Flames the 4-3 lead in the opening set, and UIC would cruise throughout the remainder of the set.
- Five unanswered points by the Flames pushed the advantage to 17-8, forcing Robert Morris to call timeout. Santiago recorded a pair of kills to lead the attack.
- A Henderson kill put UIC ahead 21-11 and Taylor O'Malley checked in and served out the next four points, including an ace, to cap the 25-11 victory.

How It Happened – Second Set
- The second set was closely contested throughout, featuring eight ties and one crucial lead change late.
- Robert Morris led from the start but never held a lead larger than two until back-to-back points by UIC evened things up at 21 all. Wafeek rose up for a kill to put the Flames in front by a point, and a combo block by Martina Delucchi and Zahria Woodard gave the Flames a 23-21 lead to force a Colonial timeout.
- Back-to-back kills by Zahria Woodard and Delucchi capped the comeback in favor of the Flames, 25-22.

How It Happened – Third Set
- It was all UIC in the final set, as the Flames jumped out to a commanding 8-1 lead.
- The Colonials got within seven at 13-6, before three straight points pushed the advantage to 16-6, forcing another RMU timeout.
- With the match clearly in hand, Delucchi put away the final kill from the Morgan Kull assist to cap the 25-13 victory.
