INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Freshman Lia Thomas recorded her best collegiate round Monday (Oct. 5) as the UIC women's golf team wrapped up action at the Butler Fall Invitational.
 
Thomas' 4-over (74) was the low round of the day for the Flames, who shot a 306 in the final round to finish the 14-team tournament in ninth place. The 306 matched UIC's total from the first round of action.
 
Sophomore Grace Szklarek led UIC in the tournament, finishing in a tie for 31^st with a 228 (+18) in the 54-hole event. Adrienne Montalone was UIC's second-best finisher, shooting a 230 (+20) to tie for 41^st overall.
 
Thomas, Megan Tang and Brooke Beyer all tied for 49^th with a three-round total of 233 (+23). Playing as an individual, Emma Hayes carded a 241 (+31).
 
UIC will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule in two weeks, competing at Evansville's Charles Braun Intercollegiate.
