Five Flames scored in double figures, led by Jalen Warren's game-high 15. UIC scored five seconds into the game and built a 6-0 lead in the first 70 seconds, forcing the Trolls to burn their first timeout. Trinity Christian, an NAIA institution tried to battle back, cutting the Flames' lead to eight with 10:56 to play, but a 13-0 UIC run put the hosts up 36-15 with 8:39 to play in the first half. The Flames would lead by 30 heading into the break and led by at least 29 points for the entire second half.

Ten of UIC's 11 players that saw action Tuesday scored at least two points while all 11 players recorded at least one rebound. The Flames excelled at distributing the ball, assisting on 28 of their 36 made field goals in the contest.
