ALLENDALE, Mich. – UIC junior
Carlos Cabrera sets the school record for the 3,000m Saturday afternoon at the Snowdown Showdown hosted by Grand Valley State.
"This year we are just embracing every opportunity to race that we are given," said head coach

There were also a handful of other personal bests and people seizing the opportunity to compete. We still have some growth to make but we are excited for the upcoming weeks."
The Naperville, Illinois, native finished the race in 8:26.42, placing 11
th in his heat. Prior to Cabrera, Dave Schroeder held the UIC record with a time of 8:28.80 set in 1978.
Two other Flames also landed on the program's top-10 performance list. Sophomore
