TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The UIC men's and women's track & field programs went to Indiana State for the first of two consecutive weekends Friday and Saturday, competing at the Gibson Invitational.

"Another solid weekend of racing which resulted in a lot of lifetime PRs, added names to the top 10 list or had names move upwards on the list," said head coach Ashley Lucas. "I'm proud of how the team is coming together and pushing each other to be the best they can be."

The Flames got the action going Friday, competing in the 200 and 5,000-meter events. In the 5000, Teresa Mejia posted a time of 17:55.08 to finish in sixth place and rank eighth in UIC history while Jenna Boyle (17th – 18:44.71) and Rosie Campbell-Watt (22nd – 19:02.69) each set personal bests in the event.

On the men's side, Dathan Maton, Drey Maton and Carlos Cabrera finished back-to-back-to-back to claim seventh, eighth and ninth place, respectively. The trio all sit on UIC's all-time performance list, with Cabrera ranking seventh, Dathan ninth and Drey 10th.

During action Saturday, Bailey Moran and Jesse Casas each recorded sixth-place finishes in the 400. Moran finished in 57.35 while Casas crossed in 49.30 to rank 10th all-time in his event debut.

Mejia had her second event with an all-time mark, as her 17th-place (4:45.69) finish in the 1500 is eighth-best in program history. Taylor Frommer set a PR in the event, clocking in at 4:49.19.

UIC picked up points in the men's 400 hurdles and 110 hurdles. Jakob Mogorovic took third in a time of 54.47 in the 400 hudles while Jahari Stubbs claimed seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 15.02.

The women's 4x400 relay team of Lia Skoufos, Aiyanna Hilton, Brooke Klatkiewicz and Bailey Moran teamed up for a time of 4:04.71 to claim two points with their ninth-place finish. The men's relay team of Josh English, Trevor Tousana, Mogorovic and Sacred Michelin claimed fourth with a time of 3:21.07.

The Flames head back to Indiana State next Saturday for the Sycamore Open.
