INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – UIC's Carlos Cabrera has been named the Horizon League's Runner of the Week, the League office announced Tuesday (Sept. 28).
 
Running in the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational against a stacked field, Cabrera finished the hilly and difficult 8k course in 25:37 to finish in 48^th place.
 
Cabrera has helped pace the Flames to a strong start of the 2021 season, finishing as UIC's top runner in 2-of-3 events while being the Flames' second-best finisher in the third meet.
 
UIC is back in action this weekend at the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame.
