The UIC men's and women's tennis teams will play a doubleheader against Grand Valley State on Friday at Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts.  The women will play at noon, and the men will follow around 3:00 p.m.

For the women, it will be the first chance for most of the team to compete this fall.  Ana Jover, Agnes Gustafsson, and Dominika Hrabalova played in the ITA Regionals last week, but the remainder of the squad will be making its 2021-22 debut in Friday's match.

UIC's men got a chance to square off against a variety of opponents at the clay court River Forest Invitational in early September.  Four of the team's five freshmen got their first collegiate experience, and each of them won at least one match in singles or doubles.

Both of Grand Valley State's teams have a meet against Davenport, and the ITA Division II Regionals, under their belts.  Freshman Estefania Rodriguez advanced to the singles quarterfinals at regionals, while the Laker men saw Pep Canyadell make it to the quarterfinals as well.

For both UIC's men and women, this will be the only dual match, and the only home appearance, before the new year.  One more invitational awaits each squad next weekend before they take a break from competition until January.
