MILWAUKEE, WI. - The UIC men's tennis team (0-1) fell on a seven-set day against the Golden Eagles of Marquette (1-1) on Sunday afternoon.Â
The Flames split the day as a team in singles, with
Pelle Strandberg,
Gustavo Schwebel, and
Artem Iermolov each coming out with impressive third-set victories.Â
"Pelle, Artem, and Gustavo all had great third-set super tiebreak victories," said head coach Hans Neufield.
When it came to the doubles competition, Neufield said, "The team started off competing well, number three doubles (Theo Duclos and
Sam Bank) were leading 5-4 until they clinched the doubles point. They competed well. Number one doubles (Strandberg and
Francesco Tacconi) was a tightly contested match."
