ALLENDALE, Mich. - The UIC track and field program claimed three titles Friday afternoon as the Flames competed at the annual Bill Clinger Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State.

"I, along with the coaching staff, are super happy and proud of the performances we saw today," said head coach Ashley Lucas. "We had multiple PRs across the board and some event wins which is always exciting. The team had a great energy and attitude the entire meet and we look forward to continuing to improve in the coming weeks."

The Flames dominated the men's and women's 400m events. On the men's side, Jesse Casas took home the title with a time of 49.63 while Trevor Tousana found the podium with a third-place effort (50.98). For the UIC women, Bailey Moran claimed the topo spot with an overall time of 57.80 while Brooke Klatkiewicz finished sixth (1:01.74).

UIC's third title of the day came in the field as Ciana Clinton won the women's shot put with a winning throw of 12.79m. After sitting in second place after the first two rounds, Clinton won the event with her third throw and held off Greta Robrahn (Hope College) for the title.

Olivia Dumas nearly added a fourth title for UIC Friday, finishing runner-up in the women's 60m dash. After qualifying in third place with a time of 7.95, Dumas shaved four one-hundredths off to post a mark of 7.91 seconds for second place. Dumas would go on to add a third-place effort in the 200m (25.87).

A trio of Flames finished inside the top 10 in the men's 200m, with Sacrad Michelin (5th – 22.45), Max Rivera (7th – 22.52) and Tousana (9th – 23.01) all excelling for the Flames. The tandem of Rivera and Michelin posted sixth and eighth-place finishes, respectively, in the men's 60m dash. Rivera crossed in 7.10 while Michelin finished right behind in 7.22.
