CHICAGO – Following a weekend highlighted by freshman records and all-time top-10 performances in Champaign, the UIC men's and women's track and field programs enter their final weekend of the regular season with a split-squad slate. The Flames will compete in two Illinois-based meets; the Huskie Classic in DeKalb and the Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, as they look to solidify seeding and qualifying marks ahead of the conference championships.

LAST TIME OUT: RECORD-BREAKING SURGE IN CHAMPAIGN
UIC continued its late-season ascent last weekend at the Gary Wieneke Memorial, securing three all-time top-10 marks and a new freshman school record.

Men's Sprints: Gabriel Fiedorow established a new UIC freshman record in the 200m with a time of 21.69. He was matched stride-for-stride by Shmouel Sackman, whose identical 21.69 moved both runners into a tie for #8 on the UIC all-time performance list.

Women's Distance: Indigo Sterud delivered a massive performance in the Mile. Her adjusted time of 1:05.14 earned her the #5 spot in the program's all-time history.

Women's Sprints: Praise Oyebanji finished 11th in a competitive 400m field, clocking a consistent 58.38.
"This weekend we had several strong performances and were able to focus on qualifying a few more individuals for our Outdoor Championships," said Zavala. "Our focus is shifting to the championship portion of our schedule."
