Flames Return Home to Welcome Evansville

Thursday Night Match Will Promote Breast Cancer Awareness

10/5/2022 4:55:00 PM

UIC will host Evansville on Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Flames Field on Thursday.  The match will be crucial for the Flames' prospects of moving up in the Missouri Valley standings, as the team is in a four-way tie for sixth place.  This is the second of four straight matches against teams tied with or behind UIC in the standings.

The Flames are happy to be back home following a two-game road trip that saw them spend five straight days in Nashville and Murray, Ky.  They brought home a pair of results against Belmont and Murray State.  Lauren Keiser posted her third shutout of the season against the Bruins, while Sophia Jaime scored the first goal of her career in the 82nd minute against the Racers to earn a 1-1 draw.

UIC brings a 1-1-2 record in Valley play into Thursday.  The Aces are 0-3-2 in the Valley, and 1-6-4 overall.  Emily Ormson leads the conference with four goals on the season.  Three goalkeepers have seen action this year, with the two primary ones sporting identical 1.50 goals-against averages and very similar save percentages around .700.

The Flames will wear pink warmups, and breast cancer awareness programming will take place throughout the match.  Kickoff will be at 6 p.m.
