CHICAGO – The UIC volleyball team closed out the home portion of its season Saturday (Nov. 12) afternoon with a dominating 3-0 sweep of Bradley.

In the final home match of her five-year career,
Paola Santiago had 12 kills on a .458 hitting percentage and was 1-of-4 Flames to record 10 or more kills.
Martina Delucchi had a match-high 14 kills while
Mikala Henderson and
Zahria Woodard recorded 10 kills each. Delucchi picked up a double-double in the effort, finishing with 10 digs.

The Flames controlled the tempo from the service line, recording 10 aces in the match. Delucchi had three while
Sohila Wafeek also had three to go along with 35 assists.

UIC's offense was firing on all cylinders, hitting .410 for the match, including a first and second set where the team hit .516 and .469, respectively. Defensively, the Flames held the Braves to a minimal .245 hitting percentage.

The Flames never trailed in each of the first two sets, jumping out to early leads and cruising to 25-14 and 25-19 decisions to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

Bradley took the early advantage in the third set, scoring the first two points. The teams would trade points back and forth until a 7-2 UIC run put the hosts in front, 11-8. The Flames would maintain the lead for the remainder of the set, as a block by
Kayanna Jones and Henderson sealed the 25-19 victory in a match that took just one hour and 13 minutes.

The Flames have a quick turnaround, playing their third match in as many days on Sunday. UIC's prior match at Murray State, which was postponed, has been rescheduled for a 2 p.m. (ET) start. Due to travel considerations, the two teams will square off on the campus of Indiana State.
