Strong play at the top of the singles lineup propelled UIC to a dramatic, 4-3 win over Eastern Michigan Friday morning. After the Eagles won the doubles point, the Flames stormed back with three straight wins on the singles courts. Tamara Malazonia that clinched the team win.

- Gustafsson closed out a 6-4, 6-2 win on the #1 court.
- Jover put the Flames ahead with her 6-3, 6-4 win at #3.
- Hrabalova moved the team one win away from victory after she emerged victorious, 6-3, 6-2, at #5.
- Eastern Michigan got back into the match with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at #4 over Hermanny de Figueiredo.
- Malazonia, up 5-3 in the third set, used an ace to launch herself to a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win in the #2 flight.
- Forste-Dinell dominated the second set to square the match, but couldn't get going in the third, losing 7-6 (2), 1-6, 6-0 at #6.
