UIC will look to get back in the win column against Marquette Sunday morning.
After putting together a three-match winning streak, the last two of which came by narrow 4-3 scores, the Flames found themselves on the wrong end of a 4-3 decision against Pacific last Friday. UIC won the doubles point, with
Ana Jover and
Agnes Gustafsson, and
Tamara Malazonia and
Lea Forste-Dinell, claiming victories. Gustafsson and Jover were the Flames' winners in singles play.
Jover leads the team with 11 singles wins, and is a perfect 6-0 in dual match singles action. Gustafsson has won four singles matches in a row and is 5-1 overall in dual match play.
Marquette enters play with a 5-6 record following their Friday afternoon win over Georgetown. Natalija Popovic leads the team from the #1 singles spot and has the most singles wins on the team. She and Emilija Kojcic are the Golden Eagles' #1 doubles team.
Marquette won the most recent meeting by a slim 4-3 margin, last January. Jover and Malazonia won their doubles set, and Jover was a winner on the singles courts as well.
The match will begin at 11 a.m. in Milwaukee. Live scoring is slated to be available through the link in the blue box above.
