UIC will gear up for a pair of midweek matches, against Cardinal Stritch and Western Michigan.
The Flames have won their last two matches to improve to 6-3 on the season. Consecutive wins over Middle Tennessee State and Chicago State, both coming by a 5-2 score, have put the team in position to match its season high with a third straight win when Cardinal Stritch visits XS Tennis on Tuesday.
Ana Jover is 9-0 in dual match singles play, all from the #3 flight.Â
Agnes Gustafsson is on a two-match winning streak on the #1 court. The rest of the team alternated contributions in the last two wins, with #2 and #5 coming through against Middle Tennessee State, and #4 and #6 posting wins over the crosstown Cougars.
Cardinal Stritch enters play with a 1-6 record that includes losses to DI teams Milwaukee and Northern Illinois. The Wolves will bring some momentum into the match, however, as they defeated Reinhardt in their last outing on Saturday.
Western Michigan has won four straight matches, including a 4-3 decision over Horizon League foe Milwaukee. The Flames have not played the Broncos since 2019, but have won the last two matches. Both of those took place in Kalamazoo, as will the showdown on Thursday.
