UIC started fast and clinched the win within the first four matches in a city showdown with Chicago State Wednesday.  After claiming the doubles point, the Flames racked up three straight wins in singles play on their way to a 5-2 victory.

Doubles Results

• Agnes Gustafsson and Ana Jover turned in a 6-1 win on the #1 court.
• The #2 and #3 teams were shuffled after six straight matches with no changes.  Tamara Malazonia made her debut on the #2 doubles courts, pairing with Marina Hermanny de Figueiredo for a 6-3 win.
• Dominika Hrabalova and Lea Forste-Dinell were knotted up at 4-all when their set was abandoned.

Singles Results

• Ana Jover won her eighth straight singles match in a 6-2, 6-0 final at #3.
• Gustafsson had an efficient 6-3, 6-3 win at #1.
• Hrabalova clinched the match for UIC with a 6-3, 6-0 win at #4.
• The Cougars got on the board with a 6-2, 1-6, 10-8 win over Malazonia on the #2 court.
• Lea Forste-Dinell earned a 6-2, 6-3 win in the #6 flight.
• Hermanny de Figueiredo dropped a 6-3, 4-6, 10-6 decision at #5.
