CHICAGO -- The UIC baseball team heads to Dayton, Ohio for a three-game Horizon League series against Wright State. The series will begin at 2 p.m. (CT) on Thursday before continuing with 1 p.m. and 12 p.m. first pitches on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

FIRST PITCH
• The Flames picked up a series win over Oakland last weekend, winning the final two games. UIC nearly swept the series, dropping the opening, 6-5, off a run in the ninth inning before picking up 5-2 and 2-1 victories to close out the series.
• UIC has excelled at laying down the sacrifice bunts, ranking first in the Horizon League and 12th nationally with 23 on the season.
• Nate Peterson became the third pitcher in UIC history to have two games with 11 or more strikeouts in the same season when he struck out 11 in the Flames' win over Valparaiso.

FLAMES STUN NO. 16 BOILERMAKERES
• UIC came from behind in stunning fashion on March 29, erasing a 9-0 deficit after six innings to top 16th-ranked Purdue by a 10-9 score.
• The Flames scored three runs in the seventh, four in the eighth and added three more in the ninth to complete the comeback.
• UIC excelled under pressure, as nine of the 10 runs scored in the comeback came with two outs in the inning.
• The win marked UIC's first win over a ranked opponent since winning 2-of-3 at then No. 7 Vanderbilt Feb. 24-26, 2017.

SMALL BALL
• UIC is one of the best teams in the Horizon League in manufacturing runs, as the Flames rank atop the League in sacrifice bunts and third in sacrifice flies.
• The Flames have recorded 23 sac bunts this year, 12th-most in Division I baseball, and have driven home 11 players via the sac fly.
• Breck Nowik and Clay Conn share the team lead with five sacrifice bunts this year to rank 45th nationally.

ON A STREAK
• Bryan Rosario has been a consistent presence in the Flames' lineup this year, as he is one of two Flames to have started in all 25 contests this year. Rosario leads the team in batting average (.340), hits (32), doubles (7), RBI (14), slugging percentage (.500) and on-base percentage (.446).
• Rosario reached base safely in the first nine games of the year, which was the longest streak on the team through the first four weekends of action.
• Rayth Petersen has the team lead for the longest active on-base streak, having safely reached base in each of the last 20 games. Rosario is currently on a 13-game hitting streak, the longest streak on the team this season
