CHICAGO – The UIC track and field team is back in action this Friday and Saturday, April 22-23, as the Flames take a quick trip down to Champaign for the Illini Invitational.

The two-day meet will begin on Friday with throwing events starting at 12 p.m. Four running events will take place Friday, with the men's and women's 200m, 400m hurdles, 1500m, and 5000m races being run.

Action will resume on Saturday with the throwing events at 10 a.m. and the running events at 4 p.m.

Racing will conclude at 7:35 with the men's and women's 4x400 relays.

The Flames are coming off a jam-packed weekend in which
Carlos Cabrera broke the school record in the men's 10k with a time of 29:45.82. A number of UIC competitors also put their name into the top-10 lists in their respective events.

At the Redbird Challenge, a group of over 15 competitors combined to achieve eight top-10 finishes.

Following this weekend, UIC will have one meet remaining before the Horizon League Championships, held May 6-8.
